Welcome to the Eagle Mountain Soccer Mountain Association
(EMSA) Soccer family. We are happy that you are joining
us to play the world's greatest sport. Soccer is the fastest
growing youth sport in America.
EMSA is a member of the North
Texas State Soccer Association and is run completely
by volunteers. The association relies on its members to
create, run and organize the program. Parents are strongly
encouraged to become involved with the program.
EMSA plays within the Northern
Mid-Cities Soccer League. EMSA's goal is for kids to
learn the game of soccer, have fun, grow in the use of
their physical abilities, and participate in a team atmosphere.
EMSA's recruiting territory consists
of Azle, Saginaw, Blue Mound, Lake Worth, Lake Country,
Lake Side Township and unincorporated Ft. Worth surrounding
Eagle Mountain Lake.
Every player must register for each season, whether new
to the association or returning. Players who have previously
played in EMSA and miss more than one season will be considered
"new" for registration purposes when returning to the association.
Registrations start in Janurary and July.
A copy of the player's birth
certificate is required to be on file with the association. This
meets age documentation requirements of the Northern Mid-Cities
Soccer League and the North Texas Soccer Association, and
ensures that players are within the requirements for their
age group based on birth date.
Age Groups
Youth are registered based upon their age as of August
1 of each year. 4-year olds will play in the U5 (under 5) and 5-year-olds will play in the U-6
(under 6) age division, 6-year-olds will play in the U7
age division, 7-year olds will play in the U-8 division,
and so on. Major
divisions
are
U-5, U-6,

U-9, U-10, U-11, U-12, U-13, U-14, U-15, U-16, U-17, U-18, and U-19. Odd-year divisions
may be formed if there are enough children of the same
age.
Players are the same level for the Fall and Spring Seasons.
Uniforms and Equipment
Uniforms will be ordered for all players in the Fall
Season. The uniform includes a game shirt, shorts and
socks. Only Players new to EMSA in the spring receive
new uniforms. The same uniform will be worn for the Fall
and Spring Seasons. Players returning for the Spring Season
will not receive new uniforms. EMSA does issue a discount
for returning players in the Spring Season.
Shin Guards must be worn by all players during practice
and games. It is the responsibility of the player and
parents to provide shin guards, practice socks and a ball.

The number of players in an age group will determine how
many teams are available. Some teams may contain a mixture
of age groups. Whenever teams are formed, location, age
and gender are considered, in that order. In the U5 through U8 age groups, the teams are co-ed teams.
EMSA coaches are parents first and volunteers second. EMSA
provides training for each coach to increase their understanding
of the game and elements of teaching the game to children.
If you would like to participate, spend quality time with
your child and be involved in your community, consider
coaching. EMSA is always in need of coaches and other volunteers.
Coaches need support from team parents as a Team Managers,
Assistants and EMSA Board Members.
Please contact the Coaches Commissioner for more information. (coaches@emsasoccer.org)
EMSA has a Referee program, an excellent opportunity to
get involved and earn a modest fee for games for managing
games. Adults and youth (age 12 and up) are encouraged
to join the program. If you are interested in becoming
a referee, please contact the Referee Commissioner (refereecommissioner@emsasoccer.org) or the Referee Assignor (refassign@emsasoccer.org).
Coaches or Team Managers will notify players and their
parents of practice times and locations after coaches have
received their rosters. Times and location of practices
are the discretion of the Coach. Most Teams begin practices
about two weeks prior to the first game. Most Teams will
practice twice a week. The length of the practice will
depend on the player's age group.
It is important for each player to attend as many practices
as possible. Practices may be held at numerous locations
within the EMSA area - area elementary schools, parks,
or at Ash Creek Park in Azle. EMSA is developing
more game and practice fields in each of the served communities.
Check your local paper and the EMSA
web site to check on EMSA's progress in this area.
